BLERTA
Bruno Lawrence's Electric Revelation and Travelling Apparition.
Probably the most bizarre of all the groups to come out of New Zealand in the '70s (they were all on something, all the time), and definitely my favourite. They made fantastic sounds. I get some really funny looks when I ask for their stuff in music shops.
Anyway.
Does anyone here have tabs for any of their stuff that's off the Return Trip compilation?
Unfortunately this is the only one I have, but if anyone has other cds or vinyl from them please get in touch...
Looking for 10" , Freedom St Mary's, Simple man, hullo hullo, and of course Dance all around the world in particular.

Re: BLERTA
I've got cheat sheets I worked out for DAATW somewhere, but then, I'm sure everyone else has as well!!

Re: BLERTA
If you ever play DAATW live please post it. I'd love to see a modern take on all the mystical crap in the bridge when they go on about the prince and the elders and so forth. Pretty much what Flight of the Concords based 'Albi the racist dragon' on.

Re: BLERTA
I love blerta, I'd try quote it directly.
I was pretty bummed when I finally wiki'd Bruno Lawrence (and Beaver) and found that they're both long gone.

The captain is right - Tabs are essential.
I wonder, if I got a shirt with this printed on it, how many people would recognise it?

Re: BLERTA
I always thought DAATW was a prelude to flight of the concordes, but later I learnt. They really meant it, there was no piss taking.

Re: BLERTA
I loved the 70's, Blerta on Ready To Roll oozed loudly from the tv after school and the bus driver smoked

Even my mother says I was born in the wrong era.
No one has tabs or anything?
Would be quite interested in seeing the tv series if anyone somehow has that lurking about too.

Re: BLERTA
You have the will to find it & play it, you're most of the way there. Set that sound going and get your guitar out, keep munting til you hear the key and try & follow the chord movements. You'll get some kind of result that you can call your own. Me I can't be fucked but that's another story...

I've half got freedom st marys, but these are all really weird keys I'm not used to... Actually I've half got most of the ones I mentioned.
Shall continue munting.

Re: BLERTA
As well as a bit of a cheeky bump, does anyone have a cheat sheet for this?
