Jam Along Backing Tracks!! - RnB/Soul Jam Added 19/6/20

Post by slash-ed »

As some of you may have seen, I recently reactivated the Six-String Samurai Facebook and Youtube pages, to push myself to try and learn new things in this socially distant era.

I wanted to do a video this week with my Marshall SV20 (mini Plexi) and Tube Amp Expander rig, and naturally I veered towards GNR-land (because of course).

Then I figured, by the time I've written and recorded an "in the style of" track, I might as well open it up for others to jam to!

And thus, the first backing track in my new Jam Along series was born.

Please have a listen, have a jam and let me know what kind of tracks you might be interested in next!

UPDATE - for a change of pace, here is an instrumental ballad track for you to jam to, in the style of Andy Timmons. This one was done using the GT-1000 and is one of my favourite solos that I've written to date. But if you want to get straight to the backing track skip to around 1:30.

Here's Jam Along #3!! A funky soul/RnB style jam. Something a bit different for me. Heaps of fun to do. All guitar tones are Katana, and the organ/synth/keys and bass are from the Roland JD-Xi.

If you want to keep up with what I'm doing, please chuck me a like or subscribe! :)

RIGHT?! The SD-1 gives it a great kick in the pants to send it to classic 80s Marshall territory.

Did just that last night. Even turned on the old Marshall JMP for a change with mostly just a SD-1 and GE-7 in front for different gain levels, granted in front of a load box and some IR's to keep volume at a family friendly level. Can't have had the amp for a long time, as the smell of hot dust etc was in the room for a while afterwards.

Are people going to post vids? I had a quick rip through the 1 rounds of the verse and chorus to get the ball rolling...

I don't normally play over this type of backing track, I'll have to put some work in to get it sounding a bit more coherent and less like a bunch of random noodling.
