What I did on my day off

Post by Kristie »

I am dying of the flu. After spending all morning in bed feeling sick on friday, I got bored enough to crawl to my computer. This has absolutly nothing to do with guitars, and is a completly silly tribute to clubbing in 1999, and I'll probably get banded for posting this on a guitar forum, but oh well.

I'm reminded of a period of 'reaching for the lasers' circa the mid-late 90's.

Kristie, your diversity is as always, impressive.

What does reaching for the lasers mean? It's referenced in Scrubs one time and it kills me. But I refuse to google it.

Ha. It literally means, reaching (with ones hands), for the laser lights overhead of you.

Although, as it's usually being done by people in nightclubs/raves/doofs, listening to some form of elecronica and having had consumed some form of amphetamine you could say 'reaching for the lasers' means being in nightclubs/raves/doofs, listening to some form of elecronica and having had consumed some form of amphetamine. But I think the phrase has more value when used literally than as a metaphor.
