I find a lil break up grind to work well for bass

a mate uses a jcm800 100 wat single channel head, sounds excellent

Gotta say Ampeg SVTs have always sounded the nicest to me. I guess a GK or mesa bass head is cool if you want crystal clear pop music sort of bass tone. But for rock you gotta sport the SVT :D

That Ashdown belongs to an acquaintance of mine, Sandy of Sanderson Guitars in Te Kauwhata. It appears he's had a bad motorcycle accident and is selling off everything. I just bought some tools from him. He has some nice lefty Jazz basses too.
