Re: Anyone like bass guitars?
I have 3 fretless basses and find myself making different adjustments according to which instrument I'm using. My favourite has problems with the electrics since being largely underwater during the January floods. The actives are toast now, so I'm looking to change them all now. Opportunity
I climbed on the back of a giant albatross which flew through a crack in the cloud to a place where happiness reigned all year round and music played ever so loudly

Ash was building a couple of "fan" neck basses. Did he ever complete them?

Hmmmm no idea, I'd love a dingwall style bass with fanned frets, 6 strings, glorious!crowbgood1 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 28, 2023 9:04 pmAsh was building a couple of "fan" neck basses. Did he ever complete them?

Wow that’s amazing. I can’t even imagine being able to do the rhythms of those slapped parts.
They keep telling me tone is in the fingers, but I have yet to see a "look at my fingers" thread.

Anyone got an opinion on a Warwick RockBass Corvette Basic?
I don't play a lot of bass, mainly just for tracking purposes and my $17 Samick is a bit shit. What's the word on the Corvette Basics?

This is $400 sans case or even a gigbag. Nice looking thing though.jeremyb wrote: ↑Fri Mar 03, 2023 8:39 amI had one, was $400 second hand with a hard case... twas a killer bass, gutted I sold it TBH...NippleWrestler wrote: ↑Fri Mar 03, 2023 8:35 am Anyone got an opinion on a Warwick RockBass Corvette Basic?

The plastickyest of plastic finishes. Necks can be small. Sound great if you're into that Warwick sound. Which I am. Presume it has the two "$" pickups?NippleWrestler wrote: ↑Fri Mar 03, 2023 8:48 amThis is $400 sans case or even a gigbag. Re: Anyone like bass guitars?
They sound good in a modern, bright sort of way. Presume it has the two-band EQ? Can easily soften them a little with that. Just don't expect it to sound like a 60s Jazz bass.NippleWrestler wrote: ↑Fri Mar 03, 2023 9:22 amIt's got 2 of the MEC active guys. Re: Anyone like bass guitars?
and no, wtf would anyone want to sound like Adam Clayton and why couldn't they get a goodish approximation without buying a signature amp???
Ok, I know we're mostly guitar players as well. But this is the common sense bass player in me talking. I have one Bass preset in my MG-30. I add virtual pedals as needed.
Thats it.
Its the guitar players job to spend a fuck tone (tonne) of cash on stuff not required to sound good.
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.
