6 string basses
had a play around with one last night, it was like trying to fret on a cricket bat. Anybody got big enough hands to play these?
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

I imagine I would, but I'd really like a go on a Fender Bass VI, those things look very cool (although prohibitively expensive).bluesgeek wrote:had a play around with one last night, it was like trying to fret on a cricket bat. Anybody got big enough hands to play these?

Six string basses are almost a totally different instrument to both guitars and bass guitars. You need to play with a classical style hand form to get the most out of them (thumb on the back of the neck, high body position).
That really doesn't suit me personally as I tend to hold the neck like a bat.
Listen to Les Claypool in Primus to get a good idea of just how different a 6 sting bass can be...
