That's why you need a P-BassPakehendrix wrote: I know what you mean about the J-bass - I'm still keen for one (used to have one, and have borrowed the Capt's) but I never find them to be keepers. There's always something not quite right about them - I think I find the necks too thin, and the fretboards too narrow. It's good for some music, but I find that it can get a little awkward for more ""Grove"" based music with lots of octaves and muted strings and whatnot. Like the inverse of the string spacing problem you're having now. Also, while they do sit "forward" more in the mix, I found that mine did get a bit lost under crushing waves of guitar. Again depends on music more...but if you have a guitarist who likes to over compensate...

I've played that bass exclusively for 8 years, I'm playing it as well as I canPakehendrix wrote: Just learn to play your Warwick better
Kinda what I'm doing. What I didn't mention was that this wasn't really a dither thread, it was more to do with timing e.g. whether I got the amp or a Jazz Bass first. So thanks for that answer!Pakehendrix wrote: My suggestion is to go for a new amp for now, and spend some time trying out new basses until you can afford one. New amp makes you sound better, a new bass might improve on the feel of the current one...my 2c.
