Twas a neck through thunderbass, played alright, sounded amazing. the (ebony) fretboard was 2 pieces glued together, you could feel the neckthrough/body lamination joins through the finish, the nut had been sanded to what seemed like p80 ie rough as guts and also cut poorly, the output jack which I replaced had had the thread filed off to fit through the hole...foal30 wrote:borge wrote:Very nice

maybe the nut was a dodgy aftermarket mod. and the lamination issue was caused by a drastic temp./humidity change, but if I paid 5 or 6k for a second hand bass I'd expect the maker to have sprung for a bit of timber wide enough for a single piece fretboard....
