Just met a man who wants an upright bass. Prepared to fix one up if required. Anyone know of one in the Waikato?

Hey Darcy,
No, but I know a man who might... try Pete McGregor http://www.bassbass.co.nz/, or jump on over to http://www.bassplayer.co.nz, there are a couple of guys on that forum from down your way who play the big dog.

Seen a couple of reasonably priced ones on TM every now and then. My daughter plays one at high school and she brings it home for the holidays. We fitted some transducer pickups into it and crank it through the bass amp. Cool fun. Neat sound.

I seem to recall there being one in Keith MacMillan's shop last time I was in there. Not sure if it's still there, or what sort of pricetag is on it. Doesn't need fixing either, but might be worth a look.

There's a pic under the 'instruments for sale' section on his website.
