Yes I use one with an MXR eq that needs 18v. Nothing to report apart from the fact it works.
They keep telling me tone is in the fingers, but I have yet to see a "look at my fingers" thread.

Is it active or just a Y cable? If the latter you will need to use two Isolated outputs, a daisy chain won’t work.

I think the technical description is: one 9v input, into a little magical barrel, one 18v output.

The Solidgoldfx Beta V is very fucking good. I haven’t got through all the Basses with it yet and just used the old ABM Klystrom SS Ashdown rig.

The post gain EQ was superbly thought through, it’s a really nice 2 Band Boost/Cut. The Bass side isn’t as heavy as the Sadowsky more like a MusicMan. Turning the drive completely off this is a lovely tone enhancer. I’d go as far as to say if the Beta had a DI then I could potentially flicked off the Sadowsky Pre/DI. (which I’ve been using for 25 years, so high praise)

The Drive is way less than I thought. Which suits me fine however those wanting extreme overdriven tones this might not be your bag. If you run the LPF as a mid scoop and boost the Presence or Treble Boost/Cut it can get a bit jagged. Works with a plectrum. Running the Wounded Paw Fuzz in front of it was certainly an “I wish Toany was here” moment Definitely need to try that with a Rawk Band

The three way switch engages/triggers a LPF. The middle position removes it and is louder than the other 2 settings.

Unity Volume is probably 10 o’clock but it does work smoothly and gradually
Increasing the drive does increase the volume. This annoys me

The Presence or Treble Boost/Cut really did not like the tone circuit of either of my 70’s Fenders...unusable in fact. Yet with a Stingray or MTD no issue apparent to my ears

So I think this is an excellent buy. Still have some things to try it out with but

✅ it likes both flats and rounds
✅ definitely blues and rock tones for days
✅ handled flatwound B string with plectrum at 9V (surprising)
✅ VCA Compressor behind it was smooth
✅ Diamond Optical Compressor in front of it with the P Bass w/flats was majestic
✅ slapping a Jazz Bass w/SS rounds it needed the Compressor, bass peaks where stressing the speaker cones.
✅ walking jazz lines on a Fretless Stingray with a smidge of the drive works great

They are $199US. In my opinion well worth a bo peep.
✅

Can be run at 9 or 18v however a couple of early reviews strongly suggest 18v (which is why I asked about the True Tone 1 Spot voltage doubler)
It’s the mid switch and EQ I’m most interested in. I’ve hardly used the Compressor bit     it’s all about the Diamond Tone Enhancement for me

If I want a Levin squish Compressor I use the Dreadbox VCA in the Kinematic
Btw their Chorus/Flanger looks the business would definitely like to try out

Q. What can I buy alongside these strings to pad out the order?

A. Expensive Patch cables and extra power leads to spruce up my board

3 months later

Where did I put those patch cables and power leads?

8 months later

I really need to sell off some pedals what original boxes do I have?

Well inside these boxes are 2x loads of expensive patch cables and power leads.
Also found 2 brand new microphones and 4x microphone cables.

The strings remain unopened as well.
