Bass Preamp Problem

Post by smallface »

I've got a problem with the preamp on one of my basses.

The bass is an Aria SB1000 from the early 80s.

I can run it in passive mode OK, but if I try it in active mode there is nothing. It's not complete silence, I can hear a faint "pulse" noise coming through the speakers when it's in active mode. I'd really like to get this bass fully operational. Who would you guys suggest as my first port of call in Auckland to get this fixed?

Cheers

I'm a bit slow at electronic diagnosis, so I suggest Garry Bartlett at Musical Electronics in Blockhouse bay.
