Had a listen. Not too bad, a bit polished, and not as much energy in it as his earlier stuff though.

Still prefer 'Iommi'.

Lots of cool moments but yeah Gunners it ain't. But at least it's better than Velvet Revolver. AND Weiland is back with STP where he and they belong. Now all we need is for Axel to warp back to where he was musically in about '86, and to befriend Slash and get Sorum on drums and ......

creatively I feel really sorry for someone like Slash, as far as over 90% of his fan base (or paying audience) is concerned his best work was his first work, and since that Album has passed into legend he's got no chance of topping it regardless of what he does.

Coupled with the preconceived expectation he's also older and wiser and aware of what is commercially successful so he's much more likely to write radio friendly songs.

Brian Johnson era AC/DC are in the same boat I suppose, Back In Black will probably never be topped yet they kept going - with mixed results to be fair.

I'm still liking the Slash album

The Levine track could have been easily lifted out of a James Blunt album ....

I think considering what Slash has done since Appetite, this album is a whole lot better than it could have turned out. Actually pleasantly surprised at how good a couple of the songs are. Some of it is a bit rock by numbers, but overall it's a lot stronger than I was expecting. Really dig the track with the Wolfmother singer.
The older I get, the more disappointed in myself I become.

To me it's just the same old boring slash stuff. Nothing new or inspired sounding.

He is to rock what Kirk Hammett is to metal.

Yeah, I've heard bits and pieces and found it pretty meh. Not awful, but not exciting enough for me to want to enquire further.

Speaking of liking boys... didn't we have a gay member here? What happened to him?

I feel like I've asked this before.

My wife disagrees with you. But it seems a fairly plausable explaination to the extent of Your Slash "fanboi-ism'

Back on topic tho, it's hard to deny there's some catchy radio friendly stuff on there, I say he's got a winner on his hands for sure, can't wait til the fergie vid comes out, swoon!

The more I hear this, the more I like it. It's usually a good sign when a song gets stuck in your head and you don't mind. 8)
