Re: What are you loving right now?
Really loving a new band from Ireland called NO SPILL BLOOD.
They're a 3 piece(my favourite type) with a huuuuge heavy sound. Bass/synth/drums. Their debut EP comes out next week,
but you can check out 3 of the tracks streaming at their Bandcamp: http://nospillblood.bandcamp.com/
music i wish i was making.

Odd Fellow's Rest, by Crowbar. Best through good headphones (I'm sure my TDK's don't count to some). There are some cool phasey bits, slow sludgey metal, and at the end of 'It's All In The Gravity', I actually took the headphones off and looked around to see if someone was in the room.

The new Gaslight Anthem album, Handwritten. I love all their albums but this one is especially great. It's like Springsteen fronting The Clash.

Loving PJ Harvey at the moment. Unbelievably, I'd never really listened to any of her stuff before.

wow wtf brain explosiondruz15 wrote:this shit http://www.melbcruises.clicktix.com.au/ discovered by accident whilst doing some bandcamp shit for my own band, amazing stuff.
It's one guy, he plays all the guitars and bass, and programs the drums, it sounds absolutely fantastic.
The newer album (on the main page) is a bit mellower but everything is free and there's some awesome stuff he does if you're into instrumental proggy post-rock metal stuff.
I'd describe it as meshugga/Mastodon meets Explosions/Godspeed without vocals.

Difference is an accident of birth and it should therefore never be the source of hatred or conflict
Re: What are you loving right now?
Got this album for Father's Day and a few listens in and I'm really liking it.

I know it's nothing new or technically brilliant (and has obvious Springsteen influences), but it makes me want to pick up the guitar and sing (when no one can hear)

Bailterspace - Strobosphere. A guitar album without any guitar solos or fiddly twiddly bits. Excellent.

My tele, now that I've set it up again, and my car because it's clean and just keeps going.

Sleep...at home the kids keep me awake during the night. When I work in Auckland, it's bliss. It's the singularly most important thing to my effectiveness at work.

Re: What are you loving right now?
I'm also loving my '60s Tele again, and probably won't relist it again once the TradeMe auction finishes. Turns out I just needed to play it a heap to get used to it again, though I think I'd eventually like to have the fingerboard re-radiused flatter and refretted with medium jumbos.Single coil wrote:My tele, now that I've set it up again
