I like him. I remember when he first came out and was on a UK TV show called The Tube doing Eleanor Rigby, stunning stuff, caught everyone on the hop and it went very quiet in teh studio.

I have quite a few of his CDs these days.

Another guitarist that I absolutely love in the Jazz circles rather than the Rock circles (, although whenever I saw him at Ronnie Scotts it was more how I imagined Hendix would have been received than your usual sit down, be quiet Jazz) is a guy called Jose Neto.

love his stuff

and some electric stuff
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0e_2mAhm ... re=related

he plays electric, acoustic and a nylon strung solid body guitar. He lists Hendix as an influence at a young age so even though he is a Jazz person his heart is in the right place.

He had/has a fresh sound. Always wondered why Steely Dan never used him, he would have fitted in perfect.

Actually, speaking of Steely Dan, whoever used to play for them was real nice too.

Mick Taylor is an incredible player, but there's very little talk of him.

Im gonna say Dave Suzuki from Vital Remains. Crazyily awesome guitarist, but the band and him are a bit unrecognised... :(

Try this song, if any metallers wanna get into him and the mean band :

And an awesome cover of the solos, if you cant be fudged watching the whole song, and just want solo action:

Hurdy Gurdy.... some how... and I'm not entirely certain how mind you, an instrument that sounds like someone has shoved a nest of angry hornets into a goose with a kazoo bill and is randomly slapping the poor creature with an accordion.... Sounds amazing.
