Many of the Vito Bratta (spellchk?) solo's on White Lion's 'Pride' album were very cool and tasty... "Wait" & 'Tell me" spring to mind. Not Shred fests or too over the top but they fit nicely with the songs and were perfectly executed.
She told me baby when you race today just take along my love with you, and if ya knew how much I love you baby, nothin' could go wrong with you.

I don't think Vito ever played a less-than-superb solo on a record. The lead break in "Little Fighter" still amazes after all these years.

A couple of Nirvana solos (Blew, Serve the Servants) prove to me at least that the idea that Kurt couldn't play guitar is utter bollocks. Sure he wasn't the most technical player, but he had a sense of melody that most shredders lack.
"Is that a paper bag you're wearing?"
"I seem to have misplaced my pants."

"Mr. Wilson" by King's X - nothing flash at all (even I can play it) just tasty as and fits the song perfectly.
"The large print giveth and the small print taketh away" - Tom Waits

I used to have that album, good stuff. I always liked "Alice In Hell" better though.

I've posted this before, but it's worth inflicting on you all again. Dweezil's solo is so cool even the video can't deal with it...
