I've just told the production company and we're meeting in an hour to start over, thanks for your advice!Pakehendrix wrote:It's rubbish. Go back to the drawing board.

Great track, nice to hear you've released this one as a single - I really dug this when you gave us a preview on here a few months back. Your best track so far (IMO, JM2C, YMMV etc.)

Re: The Black River Drive thread.
Sam, when you guys were mixing, did anyone feel that the vocal is really quiet in the mix? Especially in the busy parts of the song? It could be my setup here, but I just listened again (particularly to hear the bit at 3.23) and to see if it spun my wheels any more or less.
I was thinking that the vocal seems really even in the mix, and I would have thought it should be more prominent.

Yup - that's me and my pal Steve or little stevie vai as I like to call him. In Auckland airport when I was 26. I'm not 26 anymore.

Hey Dave, no, that was never an issue. I think a balanced track as opposed to a pushed vocal is pretty much the standard technique with rock.NZRS-Dave wrote:Sam, when you guys were mixing, did anyone feel that the vocal is really quiet in the mix? There was nothing particularly new or innovative about that track; and that's a good thing.
Good ol' classic Rock. Done really well. I never tire of it.

Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Yeah man there's been a few of their tunes I have dug over the years. I don't like their crybaby ballad stuff but their rocky stuff is tough as.
