The good lady bought me a ticket so I'll be hopping along.

Only thing is that I forgot that Jakob have a ridiculous penchant for late starts; Wellington show has doors open at 9pm, show starts at 10pm, and three bands, so Jakob won't even have "past participle of get" started by 12am. I don't know if I'm even going to be awake for them :-(

I fucking hate, hate, hate pointlessly late starting gigs, it's the dumbest thing about live music in NZ. It's what I loved about the old Dux in chch, noise restrictions meant all the music had to be finished by 10:30pm, which was great because you'd just sit around drinking beers after, making the gig the start of the night, and not the finish.

Rarrr I'm old with a small human alarm clock

I'm with Tony too tho', I like gigs to be over by 11 so I can get home to let the babysitters (my parents) go home...

The title track is one of the most beautiful layer-&-swell-fests I've heard. It makes me zone out and think nice thoughts about wife and kid and life every time it pops up, quite a resonant set of chords for me.

Yes, but it's all about how they pushed the boat out.

Not so much a problem for friday/saturday shows, but surely if they do this on weeknights, anyone who works early day shift is going to automatically pass?
