Bro...that's not something to be joked about....ever! I'm an atheist, but if you ever want proof of Satan, look no further.
I've known Ryan since our days at Takapuna Grammar. We were not only classmates but also shared common interests outside of school. Most notably as members of the Takapuna branch of the Australasian Cheese Squeezing Association (ACSA). I saw him at last weeks meeting and he was talking about chucking in his musical career as it was really cutting into his cheese squeezing time. I probably shouldn't say what I'm about to say next as it could get him barred from the Association, but he let on that it had been a month since he'd even worn his cheese squeezing suit.
Back to the serious business at hand tho', I hear When the cats away are reforming and in need of a guitarist, Ryan is unlikely to have the most facial hair in the band for a change

That's the problem; everything rewarding is just such hard work. Regret takes much less effort.

A completely amicable split, the two and half years with the band were nothing but good times - you'll see me in the audience at their future shows, and a good chunk of the guitar playing on the new album is me (with a swag of mainly Catalinbread pedals and a little amp I built which may yet see the light of day in the future). No interpersonal dramas, no "musical differences", just a decision to move on and focus on other things
