Yeah that's great news, was all over my socials recently and so nice to see. Although I find it hard to think of Devilskin using a dual neck gibson during a live show :)

going to the show tonight. Ill let you know if he uses it.

I can see how it fits with their music - they're a pretty versatile band.

I love Devilskin but I feel like versatile probably isn't a word that's used to describe them that often haha

I"ve got a lot of time for Nail, I took Jack to one of their shows at the recently refurbished CHCH town hall a while back (when Jack was probably 10 or so and pretty short) Jack decided he want to go down the front and ended up on the rail right in front of Nail, who really engaged with Jack and made sure he had an amazing show, sent his tech over with some picks, came down and played part of his solo with Jack and let him strum the strings etc.

so a diamond geezer :)

well they don't play a lot of bossa nova....

I meant good dynamics - , some softer songs, the use of strings etc.
At the show the double neck came out for a semi "acoustic" style song - interestingly using the 6 string neck for the clean soft stuff, and the 12 string neck for the louder grittier parts.

Is it ok to say that I really dislike Devilskin? And The Rock, while we’re at it.

Probably not in a thread applauding the bands guitarist for being endorsed by a major global guitar manufacturer.

Seems your keen to get it off your chest so fill ya boots.

It is what it is, same goes for Shihad/8FT/Subtract/Sinate etc. People need their local inferior version of nu-metal bands and it's fair enough. They are all fun and entertaining as live bands.
Amps:
Soldano SLO100 x2 | Wizard MC1 & MC2 | Diezel Herbert
Fryette Pittbull CL | Marshall 2203KK | Krank Rev 50 | Mesa Mark 2A

Rack stuff:
VHT/Fryette GP3, GP/DI & 2/90/2 | Peters FSM/Chimera
Verellen Meatsmoke | Synergy SYN1 | Mesa Studio

Freedom of speech etc, but tbh, why would you feel the need?

A lot of music isn't to my personal taste, but I just remind myself they make a primary living from something they are passionate about, I on the other hand work in an office.. I figure they win.. (note, I like my job (not a passion tho), and in my old man mind I would rather be on stage rocking out.. until my back hurt..)

Devilskin put on a good live show too!
No one ever died of hard work.. but why take the risk..

This comment reeks of something....and disclosure one member of DS is an old mate of mine (and I am not a fan of metal /nu-metal whatever)

I'll go out on a limb here....If Devilskin had the financial support that a US based band can get with a strong fan base and constant touring, plus an engaged and active major label, and the radio play that is possible in the US...then the production levels of both the albums and the live shows would put them on a par with many highly successful acts.

Is Nail Steve Vai?...nope and he probably doesn't want to be. He is however a very fine guitar player and strikes a good balance between simplicity and shredding. Id happily make similar commentary on all the other members too.

One other point: Despite all the challenges they have faced (including their careers prior to this band) and all the negativity that seems to come out from some quarters, I cannot think of another successful band who haven maintained such a humility and good nature. These are some of the nicest people in the business.
