Jacob Collier
Dude is a musical savant that I've been following for a number of years, his enthusiasm for and knowledge of music and theory is just insane!

Re: Jacob Collier
Yep I’m a fan. Really bummed out I missed him when he came here. Especially seeing it was for a gig I bombed at.
They keep telling me tone is in the fingers, but I have yet to see a "look at my fingers" thread.

Re: Jacob Collier
Dude is ridiculously talented no doubt, and his enthusiasm for everything he does seems absolutely genuine, but if I'm being honest... his music just doesn't do it for me.

Haven't watched. Hate him already. Should have been drowned at birth......
Now I have to watch, don't I.

Re: Jacob Collier
Some of it is pretty wild, kind of like if music had ADHD.
But there are some real nice tunes in there too.

Re: Jacob Collier
Yeah to be fair, I've only listened through a couple of his albums once a piece and they do seem the kind you need to give a few listens. Maybe I'll have another go.

Re: Jacob Collier
I'm very much the same, there are a few tracks I love, but I could listen to him for hours talk about music and theory and production, his episode on the Tape Notes podcast is really great, poor old John tries to rush him but he's just got so much to share!
I really dig this track:

Re: Jacob Collier
I should probably amend that, I’m a huge admirer of his talent and live crowd work etc, but really only know a couple of songs. Not really a fan now I think about it.
Edit: I just realised this is how I feel about most famous guitarists too. Impressed at talent but not a listening fan.
