I am trying to imagine your sound, just lots of high end and a tiny bit of bass.chrls wrote:Yes, I actually use it like that.
I work the preamp on my bass harder than I do on the amp. It's quite a nice tone.
On my bass preamp it has full treble, 3/4 bass and no midrange. I'm really not a fan of midrange.
Cyclone tuner? No, it's a Korg tuner.
I hope your 8x10 doesn't have a horn

Got any recordings of it?

I tried that one out as the seller lives near me. Very nice. Cleans are what you'd expect, but the drive is a wonderous tone to behold. I ended up going with the Rivera in the end though, just more tonal options with the two channel/two boost setup.TMG 03 wrote:there is a nice one of those on TM at present.
Very tasty.

I don't know if the recordings represent his latest setup, but you could listen to his band on Myspace:Timi wrote:

Yep, Ash has it right. However, this isn't the recording he has heard. It's the same song, we just spent $5000 on it. Gotta love NZonAir. It was recorded way back in April, but we've only just released it now. I actually listened to the individual bass tracks, and they sound like shit. Andrew Buckton mixed it to make it sound good with the song, and I'm happy with the way he did it, because what I can hear is great.
No, my 8x10 doesn't have a horn. There is actually a LOT of bass that comes out of my set up, that's why the bass is so low. When my band picks up more shows next year (Around February, our drummer arrives from Canada in January) come and have a listen. I'm inlove with the tone, and I think you would be too.
What are you going to do for a face, when the monkey wants its bum back?
Andrew's very good like that - sounds that work their best once they're in the mix.
My old band did our 3 albums with him, we were always very happy with his work.
And he's a stand-up guy to boot.

Yeah man. If we had more money, we'd go back to him. He's really easy to work with.CustomAudioBoutique wrote:Andrew's very good like that - sounds that work their best once they're in the mix.

Oh yes! I remember when he worked at York St Two, he sat on a chair where his feet didn't touch the ground for hours at a time.
Still, when he mixed our last record, he went over 24hrs without sleep and then straight on a plane to Sydney to master it. Turned out alright too ...
http://www.studio203.co.nz - I gave it a little update recently - they've been busy boys up there.

Lemmings, how do you find your amp? I'd love to try that one on TM but it's down in Welly. I think I'm coming down with a case of vavle amp GAS...
