New Amp Day!!!!!!! woohoo!

Yes I've gone out and got my first TUBE amp!

Introducing the Peavey Valveking VK100 Head! http://www.peavey.com/products/browse.c ... 20Head.cfm

tried it out last week with The Scarecrow. This thing is pretty cool. 4x6L6's in the power section. Plenty o' gain on tap. Only just plugged it in but still playing with the settings. Found a good gritty rock tone that works with my Ash Custom, using the Ash Iceman on the same settings becomes "Insta-Gain"(tm) with the pickups it's got. It really makes the differences in the 2 guitars well known which is kinda good. My other amp only made them sound slightly different. Next step is testing the pedals I have with it. Do need to take it to the Manor to test volume level

It's weighty but thats only because I'm used to my crate powerblock. It's nowhere near the weight of dali/denis's holden 100.

Will post some reviews of sound when I can bump the volume up a bit and not piss the neighbours off.

Totally happy at the moment though :D

*edit* on and will mention, that musicworks are clearing out Peavey stock for cheap, part of the reason I picked up this one. Only $995

How's it sounding through your cab compared to the Peavey one we used in MW?

I reckon it's good if not a little better so far. Do need to crank more volume though. The red custom sounds really nice on the current settings.

Nice score.

MusicWorks in town here has a ValveKing half stack for $1995, not a bad deal I feel.
