New SG Day. Arrived this morning from the U.S after a long and anxious wait

It's a 1964 Gibson SG Special. Original P90s, bridge and pickguard (slightly munted as someone had a different tail piece/bridge on it at some stage) repro Kluson 3 on a plate tuners and a partial refret. Recent refinish in 'Sparkling Burgundy' which was a Gibson custom colour option in the mid 1960s, this guitar was originally Polaris White (like Uniques one) and there are specs of White showing through a few little chips in the paint.

Plays like butter and sounds very very nice! The P90s are very articulate and clean up very well under gain. Clean tones are stellar. It sounds a lot different to my reissue Les Paul Junior. The neck is quite small at the 1st fret but gets progressively fatter as you get towards the 22nd fret.

It's the honey moon period for sure but I'm very happy with it! I'll take some real photos of it later, it looks much more impressive in the flesh.

Thanks guys. I must thank Grant for showing me what to look for and what to avoid as not all vintage SGs are created equal!

Sure you can call dibs, I wouldn't hold your breath though :D

OMG That is exactly the image of my ideal SG. Well done dude, you have now been promoted to lengendary status ;)

PS If you want i can help take some pics for you for free. I want to practice more of my camera techniques.

Note manky fence and unkeep lawn is not ideal no matter how much Ed vouches for it
