Yeah he had the FF first in the chain, still don't understand why noise would be caused by a pedal that isn't using the power supply, would make sense if the pedal was at the end of the chain and amplifying existing PSU noise but it wasn't.mr_sooty wrote:Vintage style Fuzz pedals are supposed to go first in your chain, guitar straight in to it. Something to do with impedence which is beyond my understanding. Don't know if that would make any difference to the amount of noise you're getting? Just a thought.

So you have a axefx II, time to chuck the pedalboard in the bin isn't it?
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

yeah, i probably could sell my pedals but these are my "keepers" and i like having these on the floor for instant tweaking. kind of a best of both worlds scenario

Re: Show us your whole setup....
This is me these days. This Squire bass is all stock. I've added the covers (bridge to hold the foam mutes in, neck to rest my picking hand on) and some flatwound strings which have worn in very nicely now. Love this bass, a little proof that there are still bargains out there.
Got the Jansen Bassman 75 refurbished from Weta guitars. Fantastic sound and an excellent guitar amp too. The cab is an old Gunn 2 X 12 with the same speakers in it that livesound put in their bass 2 x 12s.
Pedalwise, I use the VT Bass pedal largely as an amp sim, which I need before the DI when I'm running the hot cake. Overdrive straight into DI is super harsh to my ears. I hardly ever use my amp live (the old bass player thing) so it's good to have a pedal like the VT Bass that gives you a similar sound each time.

For recording though I do like to indulge in this sort of carry on though...

Re: Show us your whole setup....
Yeah I hear the kids are all going in for these amp sims and small amps these days. Back in my day you ran a whole band through a Bassman if you were lucky, and the blues harp player would have to make do just playing to himself. It was a simpler time, a better time.
Re: Show us your whole setup....
Maybe you could tell the younger ones how they should be running their gear? People love that.

Re: Show us your whole setup....
I'm afraid my band isn't popular enough to have a soundguy on the payroll, so I'm at the mercy of whichever soundguy I have on the night. Most of the time it's DI'd, which is why I've got the VT amp sim pedal. I'm DI'ing a lot for recording too, or blending a mic with a DI. Just whatever works for the track.
Pretty sure that mic is a Shure SM7B. I like to call it The Kiedis cos the guy from RHCP apparently uses it on vocals. Also known as the Donkey Cock.
