64 special. not every day i see one of those in these parts. nice. Grant has kept the SG flag flying around here for years, while all the tele love etc has been going on. People are picking up on it. They are great gats and real fun to play

Re: Two '73 SGs
There are a few around but most '60s examples in NZ have the larger 'batwing' pickguard (mid-late '60s) as opposed to the smaller early/mid '60s guard.Aquila Rosso wrote:64 special. not every day i see one of those in these parts. nice. Re: Two '73 SGs
i am not envious of you both in the slightest.
i am really happy with my modern SG. only issue is the big pick guard with no pick up rings. do not mind the look, but the top of the pups are not parallel to the strings by over ten degrees. i really, really like the way it sounds and figure if i mod them to be straight it may sound different.

Nice. A band I used to play in opened for TPF in Palmy a few years ago and both old SG's were put to good use, that must be where I remember seeing his '73 originally.niceguyollie wrote:robnobcorncob wrote:That standard looks familiar, EX-Phoenix Foundation possibly?
