NPD: Strymon OB.1 (Kenobi?)

Post by SimpleSi »

Sold off my tc spark boost and mxr dyna comp, Replaced them with this pedal.

It is amazing, warm sparkly compression with a cool boost function to boost either treble, mids or a flat eq boost when the compressor is on.

If you turn the compressor level right down you can engage the boost with no audible compression... Great optical compressor probably the nicest I've owned but hate the standard strymon box. Needlessly large for what is inside in this instance... As far as the boost goes, there are 3 presets which can have their frequency shifted slightly via an internal dip switch but I found for me personally I could never quite get the frequency to a sweet spot for my rig. Obviously this may not be the case with other peoples set ups..
