I once took a mate to trade something at a music shop (a crappy Washburn I think). In the confusion he thought he was paying a few hundred quid towards the Marshall cabs he was buying when all of a sudden the old boy behind the counter pinged open the till and started counting out the cash to my mate! We weren't as gracious as GrantB I regret to say but instead grabbed the cabs and money and ran...

Reminds me of a cash machine in the UK back in the late 90's, it had a meltdown one day and gave you whatever cash you asked for without it coming off your account. I tried a couple of times taking a few hundred out in disbelief, then when I realised it was basically dispensing free cash I did a final larger withdrawal and walked away. Went back to try my luck the next day but it had been fixed
