Congrats on the new guitar though Ed. I'll look forward to seeing pics of you playing it with the headstock cropped out

Nothing to do with Samick or anything, it just looks ugly to me. Vaguely reminiscent of a stylised whale penis perhaps.

LOL. I've no idea what a whale penis looks like so I'll have to take your word for that.Eruera wrote:Nothing to do with Samick or anything, it just looks ugly to me. Vaguely reminiscent of a stylised whale penis perhaps.

Stock Suhr SSV and SSH+ pickups. Sort of medium hot and really nicely defined.sirvill wrote:I like it... I like it a lot.
Suhr pickups or some other make?
Haha I'm fine with the Suhr headstock. Don't particularly love or hate it, but I think it looks like a nice, refined version of the Fender headstock.

Looks like someone dived into the shallow end. Keen to hear how it sounds though.

I'm normally a Suhr headstock hater too, but that one doesn't seem so bad (perhaps it's the flame cap).
Although admittedly if the Suhr quality reputation is even half deserved, I'd struggle to let the headstock put me off (plus that is a seriously nice looking guitar otherwise).

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and he'll spend thousands on fishing equipment he'll use for a bit, then get bored and move onto something else.

I like the headstock too. Just something refined looking about it. I think if I were inclined to own a superstrat of any kind I'd want it to have that headstock.

For the life of me Hamish... I can't imagine you with a superstrat!twangnsnarl wrote:I like the headstock too. Just something refined looking about it. I think if I were inclined to own a superstrat of any kind I'd want it to have that headstock.

Me neither! I do like the Narra one that's been passed round a few members of this forum. If I did own one it certainly wouldn't have a Floyd.
Which, I imagine, rather defeats the purpose.

Suhrs and TAs are guitars which you need to play at some time in your life. I've been converted (and now own 2 of each). The quality and playability is astounding.

Suhr headstock hate is strange to me...at least it looks vaguely familiar - how did y'all feel when the Wolfgang dropped then?
