Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Re: Slowy's Guitars
Korinacaster.
Assembled this myself in 2010. It explored my ideas of Tele perfection.
Neck: ALLPARTS. Their biggest neck: 25mm deep all the way.
Body: African Limba (Korina)
Pickups: Lollar Special T.
Bridge: Wilkinson.
Like any bespoke design, this is a polariser. If you have small hands, it’s near impossible to play, certainly not comfortable. However if it does fit, you’ll discover a Telecaster with a deeper, more P90ish voice and a huge range of versatile character. This is a soloist’s guitar and in the right hands, a very good one.
One thing I'd do different. I've discovered I like 9"radius and bigger frets. This board is 7 1/4 and vintage frets.
Doubt I'll ever do anything about it though.

Re: Slowy's Guitars
That's a great tele Slowy. I love it. I can't handle big neck, but I can still get on with this one. I bought the same lollar pickups after hearing these, and have got them in my telemaster. I recently picked up a radian korina tele body. The previous owner died it blue. My plan was to sand it back to natural wood and finish it with tru-oil, but the I can't get the traces of blue dye out completely, so will paint it in nitro.Slowy wrote: ↑Mon Jul 13, 2020 8:36 pm Korinacaster.

Re: Slowy's Guitars
Thanks - I've got four really nice necks hanging around. One has a tele headstock - so I might go with that one

Hamo, do I have to do everything around here??!?!??!?
You can't fit them all in your casket Bruce, better list them all for sale just in case!

But maybe I could use them to make my casket.....

Re: Slowy's Guitars
A custom-made casket with a spruce top and mahogany back and sides would be quite a funny in-joke.

Re: Slowy's Guitars
Mahogany? Brazilian Rosewood please. Or figured Cocobolo if I'm feeling blingy.
We could do maple/ mahogany and argue endlessly over clownburst vs bourbon burst!

Re: Slowy's Guitars
Imagine the conversation with the funeral director.
"Yeah Englemann spruce top, please. Cocobolo for the sides would be ideal for the added warmth. X-bracing if possible. Could we maybe go for flamed maple binding, bird inlays and a mother-of-pearl rosette?"
