Re: Show us yer Bass!
There's some good stuff coming from Squier lately.
He hit a chord that rocked the spinet and disappeared into the infinite ...

Re: Show us yer Bass!
here is some photos of the Michael Tobias Design Grendel 5 I got off TM last year
it has a 'quick release' bridge, it's quite a good design. Better in 'principle' that the Fender or BadAss ones. The 'saddle' spacing is very tight especially for the B string. It's been a prick getting it stringed up.

Re: Show us yer Bass!
Bartolini pick ups
they are humbuckers in a Jazz casing
Bartolini pre-amp
battery 9v has it's own compartment, pop-up.
pre-amp is specific to this range, but it's still Bartolini a lot of low end
switch is a mid-boost. pretty 'out there'. I don't really use it. In fact with roundwound strings it was super-bright, too much for old school foal
the tuning machines like the bridge are Schaller.
the string 'break' after the nut is from the headstock 'folding back' which the photo do not really show.

Re: Show us yer Bass!
fairly substantial volute (if that is the right word).
this will be for the string break
4 bolt neck join is quality
I quite like bolt on Bass Guitar in principle. this is an excellent example of high quality workmanship. The problem is if you can admire neck fittings your probably a nerd.
all in all I am delighted with this purchase. I am surprised I got something this good of TM and at a ridiculous price. Whilst I will never be as cool as Gail Ann Dorsey I do feel a step closer when playing "Slow Burn' on this.

Re: Show us yer Bass!
yes it's a very good all rounder for gigging.
If I get lucky and fend Tony off the Pedulla
I maybe have gig replacement instruments to cover the old Fenders.
it's hard to say because a good Precision sure is a comfey chair

HA! That pedulla is just too nice, you should get it so I can come over and sigh at it.

Sexy as bass brother! Covers are always so cool yet so impractical for me.

Re: Show us yer Bass!
You just feel so cool playing a bass with covers. They definitely get in the way for fast/heavy playing but I use my Jazz Bass for that.
Almost went for surf green but last minute went sonic blue.

Timi, colour me impressed. That is a very cool bass

I climbed on the back of a giant albatross which flew through a crack in the cloud to a place where happiness reigned all year round and music played ever so loudly
