wouldnt have worked mate, Rhet would have sold it and been through 3 more guitars before you'd made up your mind on wanting your strat back.
Good point.

And if you could hook the guitar up to some kind of flywheel and generator the process could become cyclic and power a small town at the same time!

I traded it to a guy in Greytown or something for a PC1 + cash probably about 1 1/2 years ago now. He then traded it in to MusicWorks Masterton (I didn't think any of the big names in retail here did trade-ins anymore?) towards a Gretsch hollowbody of some sort. MW then sold it to the guy that I eventually bought it from.
I saw it in Music Works a couple of months back, I just realised its the same LP he had on a stand by the counter !!!

I think we should start some sort of communal guitar ownership model whereby we all buy a high-end guitar, then rotate them amongst us periodically.

Came back with new Graphtech saddles, a pickguard, completely dead strings and some extra marks... but it feels good.

Traded this for a Jackson PC1 and some cash a few years ago (who doesn't like a bunch of cash, amirite) and instantly regretted it. Haven't owned a Les Paul I liked as much since then, although Nik's Std was probably close. So when it popped up on TM recently and I recognized the serial number, I tracked down the new owner, and bought that motherfucker back.

That's how we do it, big boy style
What do you think of the graphtech saddles?

Friend of mine got some for his Tel, and we reckon it's screwed the tone, he had to replace the saddles because the old ones were fucked, so thought he'd try them, not sure they're working out though, and opinion on the web seems quite divided, certainly a love/hate thing!

I reserve judgement cos the strings are old and dead at the moment. Will let you know after the weekend.

Mean, on the Tel, they seem to have a dampening effect on the natural resonance of the strings, which of course, comes through once you've plugged it in, the only thing that's changed is the saddles...so will be interesting to hear what you reckon!

Dredge, with a bit of an elaboration on the original story about this one: http://sixstringsamurai.co.nz/2012/07/1 ... erry-bush/

aliasceiza, I forgot to reply this, sorry. It ended up needing a fret dress, so it took awhile longer to come back from the shop.

I haven't found the Graphtech saddles to have made too much of a tonal difference, to be honest. And I'm still really happy with the way it sounds (although the clean tones could be better, but they are afterall some of Gibsons highest output pickups in there), so the saddles can stay!
