Wow, that's impressive. The custom paint jobs I mean. Great work.

The JS10th's are all deteriorating in some way or form. I've seen some where the Chrome has peeled right off them

Mine has a few pinhead black spots on the chrome under the lacquer .. i think it would be near impossible to find a perfect one now, as the finish was never perfect from the start.

I have a contact who can do metal spraying onto wood or other substrates. A different process than plating and it should be able to form a tougher, thicker surface. I don't know costs, but I imagine alot. Its a Can-Do for anyone who wants a chrome, nickel, copper, gold or whatever plated guitar though.

Damn actually. Wish I'd thought of that before I covered it in astro-turf.

Cheers Guys!! The Road Flare Red RG550 is getting the most use with the JS1 being the sentimental favourite, bought it new, so have had it for 17 years or so...my first really good guitar and for a long time the only guitar I had, after I thinned the tribe right down about 10years ago(I have had bad GAS for the last few years!!!!) Like CD's it is the first run so doesnt have the JS series on the headstock (serial no 324).
The Hendrix strat I bought on impulse off Trademe acouple of years ago, had been gigged hard and was a bit worse for wear. Ash did a stunning refret and tidyup of the neck and it plays really well now....I find it a bit awkward to play though so it doesnt get much use, big Hendrix fan tho...so it will stay in the collection!!
