I love the Crawlers. Might have to look into getting a set of zebra ones for Blondie.

its funny how time screws with your memory....I thought the Fireman reminded me of a late seventies Guild...but on reflection - not so much after all
then I thought of the ricky
still quite different thoGrantB wrote:

Ooops! I might be in trouble then!ash wrote:These Crawlers are an unusual beast, too. They don't sound like any other humbucker I've heard. Super clear... dangerous to the sloppy player.

Re: Ash Customworks stuff 2011
funnily enough I've always really liked the shape of the horns on the ricky but hated the body shape. An option that I seriously considered before choosing the fireman was asking Adrian to make something that had the rickenbacker horns but a more heilo or straty type shape at the tail end (would probably have looked awful in reality but I liked the idea).Lawrence wrote:its funny how time screws with your memory....I thought the Fireman reminded me of a late seventies Guild...but on reflection - not so much after allthen I thought of the ricky still quite different tho
One thing that I've never liked about the iceman shape is the little tail bit at the end and reversing it to the fireman just makes that part more noticable. I thought about asking Adrian to take it off but decided to stick with a straight replica.

Maybe this one should be called Lazarus... The body has been sitting around feeling lonely after all the other parts were used on other guitars, but now it has since been resurrected with shiny new bits and pieces. This is one of the few Radians remaining at the original price level, so PM me if you're interested in it for an extra special NZG price.

Awesome! The kind of Tele even a Teleh8r would love! Combo of pickups would be perfect for the mahogany body too... Gotta try me some of your ash wound p90s sometime!

Re: Ash Customworks stuff 2011
Speaking as a dedicated Teleh8r, that isn't a tele. Its vaguely tele shaped - but its not a flat piece of wood, doesn't have the tele bridge therefore no icepicky twang, has fat belly carves etc. Its probably closer to a Godin LGCdog wrote:Awesome! So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.
