Show Us Ya Home Recording Studio

It seems like a few members have recording equipment at home.

Here is somewhere to show us ya gear.

Next job is some sound treatment behind the monitors. I just hang thick blankets about when I'm recording vox.

What interface and mixing desk are you using there?

Mackie Blackbird 16x16. Very happy with the direct monitoring. Skips any latency issues. And great pre's.

Mine is ridiculous at the moment. :(
Too much stuff and an utter shambles. But it seems to be working quite well.
Might take some pics over the weekend.

Hmm you can't quote uploaded images... I'd also look into the early reflection points, such as that wall to the left of the mix position.

Any particular reason the monitors are on their side? I know they're more stable that way (and lots of studios do it so they can see over the console easier), but my experience with most monitors has been that the image gets screwed up when they're on their side. Definitely worth trying them upright if you haven't already.

They look like M-Audio BX5s too, which I'm pretty sure explicitly say in the manual to use upright.

Good point. Sometimes it's practical to lay them on their side to get them at ear height.

The shelf was already there and putting them on there side keeps them at ear height. I will have a play about with the upright position.

Nice and tidy Basket Case
