both from lenker, who are roxoring my soxorz at the moment.
hotrods for $11, not $45 like in the shops! (im very poor, so these sums are for me the difference between spending and not spending)
$100 for the mando, its the only one ive ever played so cant comment on how good it is, but the banjo ($200) is way better than the 4-500 dollar ones ive been checking out in music shops.
thx lenker!

amounts to the same thing., when you win an auction they direct you to their web shop to complete the sale, the auction price is usually their standard price

ive been buying direct off their web page so they dont have to pay a comish to trademe. next on my list, melodica, bug pickups, new high hat stand ($45!) coz the spring on my current 30 yr old one is crappy.

if that's the melodica for thirty bucks or so, i have one, expect to spend ages tuning the reeds. It sounded awful out of the box

Not much on YouTube about melodicas , but there's a few vids about tuning harmonicas which is the same deal

well it took me 6 hours of sheer hell to get all the notes within +-5cents of in tune. however ive accidentally damaged 2 reeds (still work but sound odd), and am unable to reassemble it with the same air tightness it had before i dismantled it.
shoulda returned it as faulty... oh well, the rest of my lenker gear ive been very happy with. tho i do have gearlust for a better mandolin after playing a $1500 florentine one:)

I wrecked a reed by somehow screwing the back on without being lined up with the holes and I ended up driving a screw right into the reed and bent it to bejiggery and now the note doesn't sound.

Well, if you do, there's a pretty good bluegrass banjo player out Hornby way, or there was 6 years ago!
Banjos are hard if you are a talent free zone like me....

its a real brainbender when your right hand plays 5 strings but your left hand only frets 4. makes it really hard to work out what string your playing!

haha, yeah never thought about that. Might have to go with a 6 string just to stop complications
