NPD and NAD 1980's roland amp and new pedal

Post by 3Cords »

Hi Guys

So A Little update.

Been after a Tyms Guitar Pedal for a while but the one I wants is a highly limited editions and goes for over $600 on Ebay

http://www.tymguitars.com.au/collection ... z-munchkin

so i have been trying to find his lesser wanted muff/mudd pedals (like the civil war or Russian) as they might be more in my price range, problem is that they never come up as they are built by one guy in Brisbane and supply is small.

No luck but I founds this second hand and it will do till I find one of it's big bothers

here the description from Tym website
Based on my original DOD 250's this is my version of this great overdrive preamp from the late seventies into the early eighties. This uses original value components and the original "legendary" LM741 IC. My version has true bypass switching, an LED and a Boss style 9V input adaptor, none of which the original (or re-issue) DOD 250's had. Hand built in my new smaller stainless steel enclosures on custom designed Tym PCB's.

I am yet to plug it up as need I to get a a power supply for it as this is my first pedal.

And Part two, While raiding the op shop for Plates something caught me eye

A old guitar amp, this new high point in my op shop raids.
Ok It not a Jazz chorus 120 but a still at $25 a steal

Not sure of age but if they use the same date stamp method as the pedals we are looking somewhere between 1985-1986

Ok it needs a good clean

No Effects on this one, expect for the Reverb is a real spring reverb

The Question does it work, and thankfully been a Roland Cube these things are built like a tank, Pots are in need of a clean and the spring reverb has seen better days, but nothing that can't be fixed.

If you wanting to know what it sounds like Here is Billy Bragg on a Cube 60, mine is the smaller version, and sounds very close but it has a smaller speaker, but for the sanity of the neighbors (I live in a apartment) this is still loud for my needs

and from a guy on You tube

Only thing I'm not sure why my one is white, most I seen are organe (hey it was the 1980) maybe it was colour option
Enough gear to scare the cat off when it jam time, just not enough skill to make it sound, not enough common sense to use headphones
