Arrived today 6 days after my friend posted it in California, new old mandolin. A Kay K70 either late 40s or very early 50s according to catalogues from back then. Looks fantastic for its age both the mandolin and case are in VG condition.
Doesn't look it was played much if at all. It will need a neck reset down the road which I can do myself, but for now with my beginners playing I don't get up above 7th fret. It is all laminate construction but once I got a couple of old dead strings replaced it is loud and sounds very good.
I thought I had a set of mando strings in my string box but damn no go. So having to use the bottom 3 courses and put a new couple of tens on the e swiped from a 12 string set. New strings on the way from Juststrings.
I can barely play Sitting On Top Of the World but I am working on it. Totally new to playing mandolin (I have a couple of A mandolins that I have had for a while) but keen to get playing.
I'll tell you what Molly, I'll put it on my to learn list
