NGD: Arps #23 *updated for marshmallow *
will take some pics tomorrow, had a bit of work to do today sadly.
I'm pretty blown away with this to be honest, the build quality is better than I'd expect from the big names. Fit and finish is faultless.
The main thing for me was the addition of the steiny tuners and trem. I've always loved the trems, even though the trans-trem was a big PITA. Steiny was an engineer, everything works exactly as it should.
Its flamey, so much flame! The neck is perfect for my hands! Best thing for me is that most of my playing takes place at my desk nowadays and it balances perfectly, without hitting anything.
Better yet, I'm not comfortable with a guitar on my left or right thigh. But I can balance this perfectly on the bit behind the cutaway, on my right thigh. That is the perfect position for me
Action is low, pickups are grunty and clean when backed off. Stoked I am
I've already played this for longer than any other guitars I've played in the last 6 months. I'll be back at it later tonight.

Been playing mine for the past hour. There's something about this Arps fella.
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Re: NGD: Arps #23
humbled and grateful for the positive feedback team.
I do this for my own enjoyment...guitar has given me so much satisfaction and reward over my life. The drive to build was a surprise to me...
All I see are the bits that could have been better...I don't see this as false modesty - its a desire to actually be good and consistent. My current challenge are cosmetic standards and repeatability...
I love doing this and hope to put more babies out in the world!
I am grateful to those who took the plunge and had the faith to actually part with money for one of my builds.
Thank you.

And that's why you do it so exceptionally well

That looks so cool, its so good to see something different.
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958β¦ amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

One thing I like about mine (#21) is how well it stays in tune. Iβve hardly had to adjust it since I got it
Yours looks great alongside your old Princeton. Bet it sounds great; what would it most be comparable with or does it do itβs own thing?

Sound wise just like a humbucker equiped guitar, but feel wise - I'd say it was a bigger brother of a steinberger. I've played a few cricket bat steinys including the real deal, and I owned an M series (the full bodied ones), and although it obviously doesn't have a graphite neck, its sort of got that steiny feeling about it. Helped by the trem obviously. And the steinberger tuners are awesome, they make the stability.MiniForklift wrote: βSun Mar 13, 2022 7:24 am One thing I like about mine (#21) is how well it stays in tune. Its very small when its next to the LP, which is a good thing But the neck is very similar - this is supposed to be a 50's neck on the Gibson, but I'd say it was closer to 60's. Sun looks to be coming out, I'll do a few pics of them together.

Such a great looking guitarβ¦both aesthetic and functionally
