Yep, glad I saw that on YouTube before I made the same mistake!

This is the one you want. Some hot air on the glue before sticking and it will hold even heavy pedals tight.
To remove from surface, heat again, leaves zero residue.

That was the second power supply I used Dual Lock on, learning from my earlier mistake. Could still probably have used squares half the size. That shit is no joke.codedog wrote: ↑Mon Jan 29, 2024 4:44 pmThis is what I have. The PSU has Dual Lock, ex-robthemac. The pedal board already had loops on the bottom, so I kept it. It sticks just fine upside down under the board. Mind you, I wouldn't go swinging it about!Capt. Black wrote: ↑Mon Jan 29, 2024 2:38 pmAppreciate that. I don't really need tenacious grip. More like less is more and still easily reconfigurable.

I'm going to reduce down to a smaller board over the next year. Will build it from scratch to the exact size I need. Will do Dual Lock on the board and everything attached to it. Hopefully will discourage me from chopping and changing too much...

Reposting lost comment from yesterday.
Thanks you guys who chipped in with this thread.
I finally got my head around the 3M Dual Lock stuff and the differences.
Thanks JB for th Photogear link! Dropped by there and picked up 3 half meter strips. NB, the link pic shows two halves but it's actually just the single one side of the strip. That's ok though. Cheap enough. Might go grab a bit more.
The shop is clearing their stock at $4/500mm so if anybody else wants to nab some, get in fairly soon.
Spent the afternoon cleaning huge swathes of velcro of the bottom of my pedals and taping small patches of Dual lock to them. This stuff works great! Even on standard pedal board velcro carpet. Holds really firmly but actually found it easier to reposition pedals.
Thanks again dudes!

Thanks to the Captain for the heads up about the sale. I bought 4m for less than I paid for 1m at my local . Planning to go full Dual Lock on both sides when I build a new board.

Just be careful of the black dual lock with the white foam backing, that residue is hard to remove!
The translucent SJ3560 works best from experience.

But there’s a stuff called Shellite you can get from Bunnings. Moves any kind of dirt and residue without stuffing up what’s underneath.

Glue is very strong, but it's not super glue strong. And if you don't have a well-prepped surface you'll have adhesion issues. I sprayed the underside of my board with sanding sealer and flattened it to 600 grit. Trying to just sand the wood wasn't sufficient.

Replacing all the Velcro on the bottom of my pedals with Dual Lock. Board has loop Velcro on it which will remain. Read a trick online about placing the pedal on the board, pressing down, twisting one way then twisting back the other. Really worked well in locking the pedal down to the Velcro.

Biggest issue for me has always been the glue-and more often than not on the pedal side .The rockboard stuff has generally served me well though

Tried using a pick or credit card to separate the two sides of the Dual Lock?

nah i mean the glue not adhering to the pedal and leaving a stuck piece on the board where the pedal had been
