NGD • GLP

Post by MiniForklift »

After seriously considering Grant’s LP Custom and then spending a few weeks faffing around in undecidedville, I’ve landed on a good Les Paul. A really good one

• Lovely dark fingerboard and stunning inlays
• A really unique and beautiful top, definitely up there with the best I’ve owned
• It’s been very well played in
• Older style golden Gibson decal

I’m waiting on something I’m wanting to switch out so full photo set to follow once that’s arrived…

Don’t want to get anyone too excited, it is a real looker but it’s not a Custom Shop. Top has mellowed over the years to almost a ‘dirty lemon’. Excuse the evening lighting chaps

early 00's standard? It's interesting that there's arm wear, but not fret wear. A rhythm player maybe. Lot's of April Sun in Cuba and Have You Ever Seen The Rain.

Yeah, a little bit of arm wear and scratches a plenty on the back. I knew you’d probably get it Grant, it’s a 2002 LP Standard Plus. May even be a Premium Plus but not too sure until I pull the pups out to check; from what I understand in 2002 they dropped the Premium and just blanket labelled them all ‘Plus’ models. But as you know, lots of changes happened in ‘02 and the LP’s really stepped up a notch in both quality and historic correctness

Cheers mate, with you on that one. It has a very old, vintage feel and look to it. No gloss or shine on the top which is a nice change to the ones I’ve had
