I find personally that I think my combos sound slightly better when they are directly on the floor.

I have now. What an excellent way of scamming more money from those who can't spend it fast enough.

One of my stereo speakers died this morning. Not super-high end, but probably a decent MIJ Strat worth to replace. Going to try and do some trouble shooting and repairs today. Hope they don't need replacing. If so, I'm dreading having to deal with the snake-oil bullshit that is the hi-fi world.Polar Bear wrote: ↑Sat Apr 09, 2022 12:55 pm I have now. Re: Show us your whole setup....
My live rig.
I use a Boss MS3 for switching and effects but looking to replace it with an HX Effects pretty soon.
The Captor X is a game changer or me and anyone that wants a ridiculously good FOH sound should look into it. It can be controlled with an app on your phone, changing IRs, mic position and stereo spread etc at the venue and saved.
Best sound I've had for an audience and will be using it for recording too.
Cheers.

Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Repaired it myself last night. Loose internal cable between the crossover and bass driver. Back up and running!Slowy wrote: ↑Sun Apr 10, 2022 8:15 amRepair?robthemac wrote: ↑Sat Apr 09, 2022 1:22 pmOne of my stereo speakers died this morning. Take one of your old 8-tracks or CD’s to test - maybe some Knuckleback, or George Michael…

I listened to Brothers In Arms through a $90k headphone rig a few years back. I think most of hifi is snake oil, but I needed several changes of underwear after that experience.jeremyb wrote: ↑Sun Apr 10, 2022 8:40 amTheres nothing quite like Careless Whisper through a $100k+ system.

Re: Show us your whole setup....
Current set-up (and best I've had, tone-wise).
Bandmaster cab is on loan from Strummers. I have an acoustic in the lounge and a Partcaster/THX rig at work. Otherwise this is the rig. Hoping to have a forum-built Cabronita to add once I get a painting set-up.

Also, try Axent Audio in New Lynn. They're good speaker mechanics.
