Just thinking about this guitar. Knowing what I know now, I could have simply changed the Nashville for an ABR, and replaced the harness, dropped some ThroBaks in (which didn't exist back then), and saved myself probably $50K. It was a great guitar...one piece body, very resonant. Just held back by Gibson hardware of the time.

This is my favorite so far.

I want an Artisan. Pancake construction or not. Prices have shot up to 13-18k NZD though. :crybaby:

I just can’t see myself buying a Gibbons one, overweight, overpriced, overrated

I think I've got a photo of my wrecked Sonex, sitting on the smoker's balcony of an old flat that would class this thread right up. haha.

What do have against the Nashville bridge, Grant?

Fair cop guv'nor, as my mother used to say "If you've got nothing nice to say...", I do really like them though, if I could find a reasonably priced gold top LP with P90s that weighs 3.5Kg or less...

Formerly acquainted: 2014 R6. 8lb even. Recon it’s Murphy aged, but they stopped him signing his work around this time. Closest sounding reissue to vintage I’ve had - could have been a tele in another life….

What sort of guitar situation are you running over there molly ? Room for the stinky strat and a lester to cohabitate ?

Have not been in the gibson fanboi camp long butmy leanings in terms of les pauls fall squarely on gold tops and TV yellow specials/juniors both of which benefit from ] beat to heck in my opinion.
They still come and go. Right now, three Strsts, two P90 PRS, some Mexi 50s' strat, Sire semi, Friedman Smallbox . Honestly, there's more than I can remember. Two CBS Strats. I'll take a pic. :-)
