Gibson robot guitar

Post by Scott Hansen »

So what do you think? Is there any call for this? Or just a gimmick? Tuning a guitar ain't that hard but then again I am pretty lazy :)

The media seem to have believed the press releases that this is something innovative but it doesn't seem to do anything you can't do on the Transperformance self tuning sytem that's been around for at least ten years. Page used one on the Coverdale Page album http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dsVb91dxrJw
Van Halen used it on Me Wise Magic a few years back.

Not to mention Buckethead's Giant Robot which he was playing way back:

But man, how cool is that! I bet they will charge a premium for it, but the noise the guitar makes is AWESOME! Makes me wish I too was a robot

Should have a pickup mounted on the headstock so you get the robo-turner noise coming through the amp

It's a great idea!

But it'd be better if it played for you too.
