strings @ headstock?
I read somewhere (can't remember which magazine, dammit) of a number of bandleaders (in USA) who will not employ anyone who has the ends of strings left 'a-dangling'. The rationale apparently being that if they're that sloppy about their guitars, it'll translate to their playing.
Another reason given was that the little 'tinkles' that unfettered string-ends make can be heard on a recording.
Anyone here a sloppy bastard?

nope, vintage klusons on the Strat, so I have to be neat. Double ball ends on the Hohner, never changed strings on the Ibanez Bass - and the LP would just look messy. It doesn't take more than 30 secs just to snip the ends off!
When I was young and poor, I used to leave them dangling, just in case a string snapped and I could knot it back together!

So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

Dangling strings is my pet hate. Why can't people spend $3 on a pair of warehouse clippers and take care of those sharp little flexi-skewers on the headstock?
I consider it a hazard after having been stabbed in the fingers by B and E strings a number of times. Damn, that hurts!
It all fun until someone gets it in the eye!!
Next thing you know someone will be running with scissors....

hm...I try to be neat have the loose ends at the tuning mechs after what i just roll them onto the mechanis...no dangling ends, and can always pull out more string when it breaks
A friend of my parents had an high e steel string (medium tension) break on his acoustic, and it tangle and looped a couple of times, and 3 of these loops went through his skin on top of his hand, 3 times respectively. Think about the pain of getting that out after...
