Ahh!! Bloody punters - never know what's good for 'em, eh!! I will say that I never ever had a gear failure onstage that wasn't caused by me or the others banging something, or tripping on a cable; that sort of thing. My guitar has never caused a problem neither has the old, clunky Holden combo, so maybe I'm just blessed?!

To be fair, that's all that had been invented 25 years ago.

Well it's like I say, I seriously look after my stuff. I figure if gear's well maintained and looked after etc then there shouldn't be any probs with it - of course there's always going to be exceptions to the rule to f** it up, lol.
I do try to have heaps of spares etc - tons of cables, extra packs of strings, a bag of picks, FINALLY got around to getting a back-up gat.
Having a back-up amp though?
:?
F** me!
I mean if you can afford it, by all means, sweet as.
But for someone with bugger all budget and still basically starting out (as far as gigging and band work goes), spending another couple of grand on back-up sound gear is completely out of the question. As fool-hardy as it is, it just makes more sense to have the one lot of gear and cross my fingers.

Though, thinking (JUST in case) I might get a Bad Monkey or something so that IF anything happens I could plug into a house PA or something.
