Should I recklessly buy a gretsch....?
Let's have a vote
Is this cool enough and priced right?
Gretsch power jet 4+/5 condition. TV jones power trons. 113000 yen.

So what are we talking here.
Yen to nzd makes it $1300 nzd plus 15% plus say at worst $150 shipping ...total $1645 plus import charges and fudge factor.
Let's call it $1700. Would you tap that? Well would you..punk?

Its never a bad idea to recklessly buy a guitar.... unless your gonna miss your mortgage payment or can't feed your kids or something... but nah, go for it.
Loving it so far

I'm trying really hard not to buy this one. It's almost painful!

Yes.
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

This would be my pick due to the Filtertrons and tail piece. One must have a Bigsby Gretsch, but first one must have a tail piece Gretsch!Eruera wrote:http://www.j-guitar.com/product_id482352.html

Actually, one must have both.

doh...opened both links.Eruera wrote:Uhhhh das one got dynas... That's why I want it so bad! Dat Bigsby! Dem pups!
Dyna's...one trick pony but a good trick. Bright as a mofo and bridge can be thin. But with the right amp (preferably a fat sounding Fender from the 50's) they can work.
OP - the answer is of course yes. I have, many many times over the years. I still have three old ones lying around here somewhere.

Is there something to celebrate?
When faced with quality, I recognise it every time.

Hmmm not sure how the price stacks up compared to trade me.
Will have to wait a month before I know if I should be celebrating jvpp... But in the mean time I can ogle guitars.
I really like this gretsch shape. Never been drawn to black guitars before but I think this one is beeeeeautiful.

Re: Should I recklessly buy a gretsch....?
I'm not a big hollow body fan. I like thinline, 335 or chambered cutaways so I think my go to gretsch es would be the duo jet shape and the country classic/gentleman. Falcons etc too flashy for me, but very cool in their own mystical way.

This is my concern, I also feel like my 360 will be covering roughly the same sort of territory*UNIQUE* wrote:Dyna's...one trick pony but a good trick. Bright as a mofo and bridge can be thin. I love my Gretsch. They are a slow burn type guitar. Once bitten hard to let go.
$1700 is getting up there.
