Amen on Omar
Billy Corgan's tone and solos have influenced the way I think guitarily alot
Also, (and don't hate me) ol' Kurt Cobain, for the way that he could distastfuly strum a four chorder and make it into a good song
I don't admire virtuosity so much, so players like vai and what not don't have much of an effect on me. I find it all a lil devoid of emotion.
I like a very human player that cocks up but makes it obvious that he loves it.
Any female guitarists on this list?
..perhaps PJ Harvey?

1964 - re your bassists. Mate, I am SO glad you didn't include Jaco. It seems everyone jumps on the Jaco bandwagon - even those who haven't listened to his work.
Actually, I'm even more impressed that you actually know the names of more than one bassist. I'd be hard pressed to name 5 - and I am a bassist.

He hit a chord that rocked the spinet and disappeared into the infinite ...

Also - VERY pleased to see people on this forum can state their favs without argument. I've seen very heated arguments about EC v GM for instance.
Normally all it takes is for someone to say that <insert name here> is past it or never was any damn good compared to <next name> and suddenly its all on for young and old...
Internet posting maturity is to be applauded!

It's Jimmy Page isn't it?Rog wrote:Ok, TMG, I'll play your no-caption games.
Who is that with all the LPs and WHy oh WHY would anyone want 62,000 guitars all the same??
The photo is from when Gibson made some reissues of his #1 guitar.
I think they made 150? That were exact replicas with all the scratches and dings, and they also produced a normal line of them at at more affordable cost. If my memory is correct.

Yip thats Mr Page. and the 26 signature LPs Gibson made. He played everyone and signed them. Then they made 150 unsigned models.
