Hey, man, thanks!Rog wrote:1964 - re your bassists. Mate, I am SO glad you didn't include Jaco. It seems everyone jumps on the Jaco bandwagon - even those who haven't listened to his work.
Actually, I'm even more impressed that you actually know the names of more than one bassist. I'd be hard pressed to name 5 - and I am a bassist.
The likes of Jaco and Stanley Clark are no doubt brilliant, but I listed those that I actually enjoy listening to, rather than those I’m supposed to be in awe of, inspired by and rave about. But while their virtuosity is clearly evident, I just don’t find their music in itself particularly appealing.
Louis Johnson makes me want to pick-up a bass, and in fact I bought my first bass because of his solid grooving on Stomp. Man, I wish I could play even remotely like him. I think he’s probably the only musician that I would ever think of trying to emulate.

My friend has a few videos of Weezer. I'm not sure what it is, a new years concert or something. Some of the solo's that Rivers plays are surprising. I didn't realise he was that goodOptimus_prime wrote:Kim deal and kim gordon for bass as well
