i voted hardtail, i like the snap and immediacy. actually i don't even have one, mine isn't StringThruBody like the old hardtail Strats and new teles, it's 50s style toploader, but close enoigh.

i do like the hollowbodies with the tailpeices though, i think that length of string behind the bridge does something to the sound.
this one's special, this is the ultimate, after this i'll never need another amp, EVER...Image

I can't give you a too detailed answer cause I'm not EXACTLY sure. But I know that it works by using a knife edge system with rollers in the bridge that would fall out when he broke, or breaks even, a string.
These might give you a bit of a better idea.
Obviously the strings weren't strung through body, and the bridge itself from what i've read was very good at keeping the guitar in tune.

When I was in Chch there was this photographer that my father knew, he was dissappearing overseas for a couple of months I think so he let me look after his guitar gear.

It was the complettete Brian May setup..

Custom guitar, Vox amp and a curly cable...

Did I make some loud noise with that...

Interesting guitar to figure out thats for sure!!!!

I f i was an angry man i would have broken something then, thats very very cool. I like the guitar its not to hard to figure out if you know what the controls are for. I've never had it go silent on stage by flicking all the pickups off.

offender, you have a single locking floyd rose, they are also on the ibanez RG270's, older models now, apparently they dont dive bomb and all that whammy bar stuff as accurate as a double locking, the dude in the shop was probaly just trying to sell me the RG470 tho.

cheers BG for fixing that up, i probaly was doing sumthing cabbage, but i dno, maybe the gremlins have been in.
Yeah it is the same type that you get on RG270 - it is a first generation Floyd Rose style bridge / single locking. It stays in tune pretty well and is pretty fine for whammy action (was using it when jamming drummer on the weekend).

I don't know how to divebomb so can't comment on that!

a dive bomb is wen u push the trem arm to the body of the guitar, do not do it with a standard trem, the mean way to detune it, so do it to your frineds guitar when they piss you off, lol, ive done that a few times now.
