I sold my Martin and bought a Larrivee which suits me better in every department.
Guilds are also very nice and they'll last many lifetimes.

I really enjoyed my Guild. The easiest acoustic I have ever played is my ex-Oleg Breedlove. Come to think of it, the Guild was ex-Oleg too!

Another less expensive option for an all solid wood guitar is one of the Lowden/Sheeran series. Plenty of different models and woods to choose from, and all on the smaller side (00 or 000). You need to buy from overseas though, I don’t think NZ has an importer. These are so much better than the cheap Martins.
I’ve had a good play on the Sheehans at Guitar Gallery, pretty impressive, quite a range too. I was surprised how many models there are - clearly Ed’s been busy working on his woodworking skills.

I'm impressed you got to play them. I went there, he told me not to touch anything then ignored me for 20 minutes. So I left.

I have sold on a couple of Martins now. I like every Martin I have played but just cant get to love them really. Mind you I think I am more of an old Guitar person... A huge fan of Guilds here especially the Hoboken and Westerly era ones.
Sold My Larrivee too come to think of it, and both Breedloves...

Incoming NGD, have a Martin OOO junior on the way, the slightly wider nut sealed the deal, being a shorter guy the smaller body size appeals greatly too.

And here she is, Taylor Academy 12, played it off against a bunch of other cheaper and more expensive guitars and liked it more!
Had great low action out of the box, no fret buzz or other undesirable things, really comfy with the bevel on the body and neck feels a lot like a slightly thicker version of my Strat. I like!

Nice one, after you have played a song or two it must be time to order a new watch, right?
